As a previous Senior Sales Consultant at Dexters, I found the service that John provided to be unrivalled. After looking around several properties with other agents we were quite disappointed with the services they provided, after meeting John, I brought into him as an individual and was exceptionally keen to rent a property though him.
If anyone is looking to rent a property in central London, John is definitely the most competent Consultant I have worked with.
Both referees complained that the referencing process was time consuming and the online system didn’t work. My boss ended up having to call the agency for support and fill out the form twice. In addition, one of the agents called the office and reduced our receptionist to tears. Obviously, both experiences were incredibly embarrassing for me, but not Hurford Salvi Carr’s fault.
The checking in agency were also poorly informed. The itinerary and report they produced are by far the best I’ve ever seen as a tennant, but it would have been nice to have received the keys from someone who could tell me where the car park was, where the rubbish went, how the heating works etc.
But all in all, great agency and lovely people.
This was my first conversation regarding a new flat with an agent and Jomar came across very friendly, professional and attentive and as I was describing my requirements to Jomar he was able to tell me that he had just received a lead on a property which wasn’t on the market yet but would be going on very soon. Within 10 minutes he was able to arrange a viewing and within 20 minutes I put down an offer and secured the property. All, before it was even on the market.
I believe this was down to good market knowledge on Jomar’s part and excellent professionalism and urgency which made dealing with Hurford Salvi Carr and Jomar an absolute pleasure. Both Jomar and his colleagues at Hurford Salvi Carr were very professional, friendly and always maintained communication throughout and after the process.
It is also worth mentioning that Hurford Salvi Carr have low referencing fees when compared to other agents, they have no ridiculous surcharges, and they have a very efficient & flexible deposit, inventory & contracts procedure.

I just wanted to write to you regarding our experience with Hurford Salvi Carr and in-particular one of your colleagues at the Dockland Office. Myself and my two friends had been searching for around 6 months and getting ever frustrated at how competitive the market was, and with the general uselessness of many agents who seemed to charge a lot for very little. Through dealing with numerous firms across London, and losing the will with sales people that very blatenly lacked any sort of knowledge on the area, and consistantly provided us with viewings that clearly did not match the requirements, we found your colleague John Kilden to be a breath of fresh air. It was clear that (unlike the vast majority of people we dealt with) he had done his research on the property and knew a great deal about the area. He was unique in the way that he listened specifically to our requests, and provided really useful opinion when needed. John’s people skills are brilliant, and he dealt with us in a professional and very friendly manner, building a raport with us as we went through our search and leading to us trusting him greatly.
Most of all, when a deal for a property in Limehouse fell through and led to us all being extremely frustrated John was brilliant in keeping us updated and providing support in our search. Indeed, we moved into the next property he found for us last week and were really impressed with the efficiency of the move-in process and general efficiency of John and his colleagues at Hurford Salvi Carr. Finally, even once the deal was complete and we’d moved in, John has been there to help (when other agencies have been criticised for not caring after you’ve moved in), we’re really grateful for his help in making a pretty painful activity as painless and efficient as possible.

Our first contact with Hurford Salvi Carr was with Mason several years ago and we were impressed then at his knowledge of the market and his professionalism and were so pleased when he found us a new, suitable tenant before another rival local firm did so. Throughout the period Kirk worked hard for us liaising with the various parties to ensure that the sale went through. He also was very helpful in keeping an eye on the flat whilst it was empty which gave us peace of mind.

I can’t think of any specific areas for improvement.
They found us an excellent tenant at a rate substantially above market rate for an 18 month let covering the Olympics. Six weeks prior to the end of that tenancy they started marketing the flat and found an excellent tenant at a good rate bearing in mind the current oversupply in the market.
I would also note the new software being used which allowed tenants and landlord to sign electronically and speeded up the whole process.
Over the last 3 lets we have only had 2 unoccupied days which from a landlords viewpoint is the key indicator of the efficiency of an agent.
Tony Xaykosy was incredibly enthusiastic and approachable throughout the process. After the first viewing he quickly understood what I was after and arranged the viewing of the flat where I am now residing. I could not be more thankful!
