I wish to write a testimonial for Messrs Hurford Salvi Carr in my dealings with them after I put my 2-bedroom central-London flat on the market in mid-2016. David Salvi, Rhys Thomas (Negotiator) and indeed all staff at the Store Street office dealt with me efficiently, courteously and went to great lengths to keep me in the loop on offers received for my property and at every stage. They all work as an amazing team to achieve the best results. In 2016 there were two cash offers received one after the other, both pulling out just before exchange of contracts. Naturally I was very disappointed but either David, Rhys or both kept me informed at every stage of the marketing process and remained upbeat throughout, giving me confidence in their ability to sell my flat for a good price. Despite having other Estate Agents constantly asking me to change to their firms because they could sell my flat ”immediately”, I felt secure in the knowledge the Hurford Salvi Carr were going to negotiate an honourable and mutually-convenient deal at the earliest opportunity. This was achieved and completion took place on 15th August.

I cannot thank David Salvi and his staff for the way business was transacted and their constant courtesy and efficiency. This was especially appreciated as I am no longer young and having steps along the process carefully explained was an added bonus.

I was most fortunate to be assisted by Amy at Hurford Salvi Carr West End office for the purchase of a flat in Bloomsbury. Amy has a great gift of being able to discern the core requirements of a client. We viewed a few flats with Amy on our first meeting whilst in London and she understood exactly the type of property we were looking for. Two months later a phone call to HK when the right property came onto the market set the whole motion in process. The conveyancing side of acquiring this particular flat was fraught with minor difficulties and inconveniences, but one could not ask for more efficiency and patience from Amy. Given the difficulties involved,this purchase could have easily fallen through without her determined efforts to keep the focus on.

She also understood the preference that many buyers from the East seem to have for new properties, which is sometimes a tall order for Central London. Amy was the sales negotiator in my quest to purchase an apartment in Central London. I had popped by the office one day to enquire and she mentioned that an apartment in the location and budget I had set would be available soon. Despite being out of town, she kept in touch with me and kept me up to date with the sales process. The sales process was a bit of a roller coaster ride given that the sellers had changed their minds on a few occasions. However, Amy and Phin kept in touch via calls and emails to keep me updated. The relationship between estate agent and vendor is not to be underestimated! As a vendor, I had three key requirements.

  1. Ease of communication with the estate agent, whether by email or telephone. This was exemplary. My emails and calls were always returned quickly and queries dealt with patience, understanding and professionalism.
  2. A belief that the agents would try to find the ‘right’ person/persons who would like my property and be interested in buying it. In other words, I didn’t want to be impressed with huge numbers of ‘time-wasting’ viewings.
  3. On a regular basis, to give me clear feedback (negative as well as positive) of all viewings.

I was very happy with the way that these requirements were met by Hurford Salvi Carr.

Furthermore, because of a few unexpected complications, Hurford Salvi Carr had to handle some delicate negotiations between my buyer and myself. I was impressed with the intuitive, practical and entirely professional way in which these matters were conducted.

Throughout our dealings, I found Hurford Salvi Carr and particularly Phin and Amy my main contacts, attentive and friendly at all times.

In fact, as I write this some four months after completion, and thinking back to those days, I am feeling quite nostalgic, and in a very nice way, too!
