Hurford Salvi Carr achieved an offer at full asking price just one day after taking on my rental flat which had previously been listed with another agent.. In the end, the flat went above asking price, almost 15% higher than the offer found by the first agent. The tenancy began 10 days after Hurford Salvi Carr took over.

I really liked the fact that everything could be done via email without having to print/sign/send documents back and forth. It was the first time I used the docusign platform and I find it very convenient
I also liked the research piece you sent on the various markets covered by your agency, this is particularly useful to a “first time” landlord to get an overview of the market dynamics in the area

In fact this is the only property I rent out. I have only worked with Hurford Salvi Carr so I can’t really compare. Over the past 10 years you have always managed to find a good tenants and usually quite quickly. I have found all the Hurford Salvi Carr people to be highly professional and courteous. So I would certainly recommend the company.
If I have a criticism it is concerting repairs. You tend to choose the most expensive contractors…. But I must say they seem to do their job properly which is perhaps the most important thing. I think if the client felt than an effort had been made to “shop around” this would be most useful rather than the feeling that an absent landlord will always pay…..
In summary I am not certain that I would use any management company if I lived close to my property. But as this is not the case I think the money is well spent as I am quite sure you look after my interests.

I suspect you have sensed that I have been very pleased with the service Hurford Salvi Carr has provided in letting my flat and have been particularly impressed with the way you personally have delegated various tasks to your team but never lost touch with what was going on. From the start of the previous tenancy a year ago I have had the feeling that my interests as a landlord were your core business at the same time as satisfying the tenant. When I met the previous tenant independently shortly after he moved in I confirmed with him that he should deal with any problems through you but that if he failed to get satisfaction he should contact me directly. He never did and even volunteered the fact that he had found you unusually easy to deal with as a new tenant.The one comment I would make to improve things is that at times in the recent negotiations I realized that the management arm of the business wasn’t always up to speed with what was going on with the tenancy arrangements or vice versa. I dealt with this by starting to copy emails in all directions which solved it.

As an overseas owner of a property in London I can honestly say that the team at Hurford-Salvi-Carr provides a satisfying service to list the property, brings in potential tenants from a their clients for showings and manages to negociate a decent rate within a reasonable time after bringing it on the market. Tenant references are provided, description of the property with pictures made in detail per room with a detailed check list is made on entry and departure of the tenants and discussed in email or over the phone. Issues are addressed and always solved to full satisfaction.

The fact that she’s completely bonkers only seems to make her even better at her job. She was patient and polite with me to the point of madness when at the beginning of my letting process this year I allowed myself to be persuaded by some chancers to go with them for what they promised would be a much higher rental. I have just recently rented a property through Hurford Salvi Carr and wanted to write a quick note to recognise Alex Fowler, our estate agent.
From the onset we were very impressed by how professional, knowledgeable and helpful Alex was. We had quite specific requirements for the flat we were looking for and Alex was very attentive in understanding our requests and finding properties that matched. Compared to other agents, he was clearly in a different class. Each time we met with him he was on time, friendly and well prepared to show us the properties. When we did find the our ideal flat he was also very organised and helpful in pushing through our offer and getting us to a move in date. All in all, hats off to him.
Finally, on a broader note, it does have to be said that Hurford Salvi Carr did seem to have some of the better, more fairly priced, flats in the EC1/N1 area. It definitely does seem to stand out from the local competition and we will recommend you to others interested in the area.
